Sage 300 Cloud Recommended Upgrade Procedures

Always do Test Upgrade! This can be on site (Test Server) Offsite using the clients data.

 

So after a successful test upgrade; please follow these best practice procedures on live system: ​

1. Take fully working multiple backups! 

2. Switched off or Lowered any Firewall, whether they be Software or Hardware 

3. ​UAC - User Access Control must also switched or lowered. 

4. DEP - Data Execution Prevention must set as below: 

5. Turn off the Anti-Virus Software or exclude the Sage 300 folder from Anti-Virus software check list.

6. Be on the latest PU of version of Sage 300 you are upgrading from (data converted/activated) 

7. Preferably uninstall the old versions of Sage 300 modules

8. Install the new version plus the latest Product Update for that version

9. Run REGACC as ADMIN (this is done by right clicking on the .exe and selecting the option from the list “Run as Administrator”) 

10. Activate the data 

11. This process should be followed from version to version until the desired version is reached. 

12. Where they are add-ins or 3rd Party Products, please confirm compatibility, some add-ins may need to be uninstalled first before new versions of Sage 300 are installed

14. If there are workstations connecting to the Sage 300 data via “Workstation Setup” Please uninstall the Workstation Setup and Re-run it

15. If the client was using Sage 300 Portal in prior Versions, and they are upgrading to 2019 or higher where the Portal is no longer used, uninstall the Portal in order to install the Web

    Screens. Remove the PORTAL database in SQL and re-configure it.

16. In Sage 300 DATABASE setup, re-do the PORTAL connection as well.
