Cannot create database profile

SOLVED

Hi All

I have about 42 DB profiles currently in Sage on-prem (Premium license.)

I'm trying to add more but seems I have hit a soft limit?

Any thoughts on how to overcome?

Looks like you may have a corrupted Orgs.ism file. We have customers creating over 400 DBs with no issue.

The following KB article content could also be used in resolving this issue

Error: "System error. Cannot create database profile" occurs when creating database ID

    Cause

The Orgs.ism file that holds database information may be corrupt.

    Resolution

The error may be resolved as follows:

    1. Click the Windows Start button
    2. Click All Programs
    3. Click the Sage folder
    4. Click the Sage 300 ERP, Tools folder
    5. Click the ScanISAM utility and keep the default setting 'All Sage 300 ERP ISAM files'
    6. If a problem is detected for the Orgs.ism file, click OK to repair
    7. Add the database ID in database setup.  The error should no longer appear

If the above steps do not resolve the error, restore a good backup of the Orgs.ism file.

  • Hi

This is caused by a couple of possible problem

    1. Windows compatability with your version of Sage300 - check again the guide.

    2. Make sure the users you installed with is Administrator or have administrator rights on the machine.

    3. Check the right on the folder (C:\Sage\Sage300 ) make sure you have all rights on that folder

    4. Run the Database setup as Administrar (right click and run as admin)

    5. If you still have the problem (Rename the Sageshared folder) ShareData and reinstall system manager and make sure you run as administrator when you do that.
