How would you be able to Tell if you Need a Data Fix

Please Remember the below is a Guideline to assist you with your House-Keeping.

Although this is not an exact Science however you can use it as a Guideline so that you could react Swiftly and not break anything in the Process.

So, if your answer is yes to the below then you should consider doing a Data Integrity (Further Below) and Possibly send your info for a DataFix:

  • Is your Trial Balance out of Balance 
  • When you look at your Customer Age Analysis, Statement and Detailed Ledger does the amounts not all talk the same "Language" (amounts differ)
  • When you look at your Supplier Age Analysis, Remittance Advice and Detailed Ledger does the amounts not all talk the same "Language" (amounts differ)
  • When you doing a Stock Take and you run a Inventory Valuation by Code and by Group and the amounts are different
  • Do you have a "Ghost" Customer Account, Supplier Account, Inventory Code?
  • Are you Missing a General Ledger Code?
  • If you Run the Below Data Integrity Report Do you see a lot of Words and Numbers telling you that you have issues?

To Run a Data Integrity Report Do the following:

  • Make A BACKUP
  • Go to FileData Integrity
  • Select Next
  • Select "Verify the Data Only"
  • Select Process

If Unsure, you will need a Pastel Specialist to assist you.

Otherwise if the above is not applicable to you Make you a cuppa Coffee, Take off you Shoes and #WorkHard.

    Many people do not quite understand the significance of "Open Item out of Balance" In reality it means there are transactions missing - either in the Open Item file (Statement)  or in the Customer detailed ledger file.

    Example:  if the Open Item file contains a reference to a payment  made to a supplier - the chances are that you DID pay..  If the detailed ledger misses transactions - you customers may not be seeing outstanding invoices...

    It is critical.  Please use a reputable service provider to fix your data.  Some service providers will take the short cut (cheaper) and just delete the offending portion of a transaction.  A reputable provider will dig deeper and check your bank statement to verify if payments or deposits have been made...

    The Sage City Mayor is correct in saying "Please use a reputable service provider to fix your data"
    All you need to confirm is that the Consultant that is helping you has Passed their Module 1,2,3,4 and 5.

    If this is True then this Consultant should be skilled enough to handle your Data Fix.
