Using 64 Bit Server on a Windows Server and 32 bit Client on Workstations. Blue Screen

SOLVED

We have been using 64 Bit Server on a Windows Server and 32 bit Client on Workstations.  Recently however we are getting a Blue Screen of Death on some of the workstations trying to access the mapped server.  I believe the problem to be a Pervasive one as when running the Pervasive Systems Analyzer I can replicate the problem if the NETBIOS option is ticked.  PSA runs without problems on SPX/IPX Protocol or TCP/IP Protocol but I get BSOD when NETBIOS is selected? Anyone come across this problem before?  I am beginning to suspect that this is a Windows problem but have not been able to identify the problem or a workaround other than installing Workgroup on the Workstations.

    Hi

Please advise if this is on the registration of the program or when accessing the companies. I have come across the blue screen issue but it was on the installation of pervasive. What version of Windows are you running on the workstations. Is this also happening on 1 or all the workstations.

My suspicions are more on the Sage connected services. Remember if a company is opened one of the things pastel checks is the sage connected services. please try re installing the sage connected services on both the server and workstations (but more importantly on the workstations). Please also ensure that the dot net framework is activated under the programs and features, and all outstanding windows are ran

    hope it helps

    Hi Thulane

I don't know if you read my question correctly but you will see that the problem even occurs when running Pervasive Systems Analyzer (this implies before registration or opening of a company). The workstations are Windows 10 Pro but not all workstations have the problem. Also cannot be Sage Connected Services as the problem can be replicated without Pastel or Client Services being installed.  The .NET framework is installed.

The problem only occurs when connecting the 32 bit Pervasive Client to the 64 bit Server but not the workstation.  The Anti-Virus has been uninstalled and Firewall disabled on both Server and Workstation.  The problem began on Monday morning three weeks ago and this week another Workstation that was running perfectly had the problem.  I suspect that a Microsoft Update is possibly causing this but have not been able to identify which update as yet.  It definitely has something to do this the networking NETBIOS operation.

Have you tried editing the HOSTS file and putting the IP and server name in it of  each of the client PC's this normally resolve any NETBIOS issues

you can normally find it here C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
