Error when selecting general ledger account

SOLVED

I am constantly getting this error when I am processing a cash book or an invoice. When I try to choose/pick a general ledger account that error pops up. Can someone assit how I can resolve the error. I have even restored a working backup but the error is still coming up. What could be the cause of this

    Good day,

    The error occurs when there is corruption on a file. In this case, the General Ledger master file (ACCMAS.DAT) is the one affected. Click on Close Pastel for the system to try and rebuild the file. I recommend that you also rebuild the file manually. For detailed instructions on how to rebuild files, please refer to the article here.

    Should you receive a critical error 02 or any other error during the rebuild, it means that the file is severely corrupt and cannot be recovered. A prior backup without the error will need to be restored.

    Rebuilding the file did not work. I restored from my previous working backup but after some time I would get the same error. I had done a backup with batches still not updated so have created another company altogether and exported open batches and then imported them into the new company. As for components utility looks like its not there I have uninstalled and reinstalled pastel but there is no components utility

    Is it that with the new versions coming we seem to get more errors especially of data corruption or trial balance not balancing. Is there a way of preventing these errors, I have a working antivirus have replaced my hard drive with a new one and installed pastel on it but even though that's when I started getting errors when i upgraded to version 19.2.2

    Good day adepsa,

    Thank you for the feedback and my apologies for the delayed response.

    The components utility is available on V17 and older versions. To resolve the runtime error 429 on V19, rename the Pastel19 folder to Pastel19.old and run a repair on Pastel by going to the Control Panel | Programs and Features. Select Sage Pastel Partner V19 and click on Repair.

    Note: You will need to move your company folders from Pastel19.old to Pastel19 after the repair. You might also need to go through the Registration Assistant to re-register Pastel.
