Inventory Item Weights - Sage Business Cloud

Hi Everyone

Does anyone know how one could add product weights to Sage Business Cloud? If this is possible, I would then also like to add the total order weight in the invoice designer in order to process a transport quote. We now have to calculate weights manually which is really time consuming.

    Good Day,

To make changes to your invoice layouts and add additional information or calculation fields, you would need to download the custom layout designer.

Please click on the link to download the designer.

For further assistance with customizing, you can contact a Sage One adviser near you, however, they do have a fee that varies per advisor.

    Good Day,

Please clarify/provide more information on where you want the product weights to reflect.

    Hi Petronella,

I used to use Pastel Partner and then moved to sage business cloud, in pastel partner you could add the weight for each product in the setup but sage business cloud doesn't show this. If there is anyway of adding individual product weights, then i would like to add a field in the custom layout designer that would show a total weight for the sales order.

On pastel partner, you could pull the database field in the form designer to add the total weights and it would then obviously print on the sales order. This is what i need, if you have any ideas/solutions?

I thought of using a custom numeric database field but then i still wont be able to get a total for all products.

    Good Day,

You can make use of user-defined fields to add additional information for the item. Once these have been added, you can customize your layout designer for this field to reflect in the Sales Order, invoice/ quotes.

To do this go to Company... Change Company Settings... User Defined Fields... Customers.

The following screen will be displayed

You can then rename the field. In the example below I have renamed "Text User Field 1

Once this has been renamed you can add the Item weight in the item code.

You can then customize the layout and add the field where you would like for it to reflect in the layout/s.

    Regards.
