Latest Update - 2020 Update 1

I am pleased to announce that our latest update, 2020 Update 1 has been released this morning.  It was released using Payroll's frictionless Update facility and will be releasing in batches to our clients.  If you did not release your Frictionless Update when you opened your Payroll System this morning, it just means that your Site code wasn't in the list for the frictionless release, but never fear, you can download the update from our Download manager.

This update includes the new legislative changes that was released in this years budget speech and the new OID threshold for the 2019 - 2020 year was changed to R458 520 per annum.

For all changes incorporated in this update, please check the History of Changes document:

Remember that the changes will be incorporated once you run a legislative release, and that a legislative release needs to be done in every "Live" Company in your Pastel Payroll.  

  • When I try update to this version I get 1152 Error extracting Pastel Payroll.msi to the temporary location?

    Hi Val,

    You will have to navigate to C:\Program Data\Sage Installations.

    If you don't see Program Data in your C drive, you will have to tick the show hidden files and folders under view:

    In Sage Installations, click on Date Modified so file explorer shows you the newest folders first.  Click on the one with today's date (the folder with have long randomised digits as its name).  In this folder you should see an .msi called South Africa.  Right click on this and select run as admin.  Click on the next prompts and use the wizard to complete this installation.

    Go back to where you have saved the install, right click on the install and select Run as Admin.  On the screen where you can select Country, uncheck South Africa and continue with the rest of the install.

    I have downloaded twice and get the same response??

    Have been holding on for the second time now for 27 minutes Fisrt time cut off at 43 minutes

    How do I get to install the latest version if this is the error????

    Hi Passa,

    If you want to post a new question, click on the  icon on the top right hand side of the page.

    In regards to your query, navigate to the Control Panel, Programs and Features.  Wait for the list to populate and look for the below app:

    Right click on it and select uninstall.

    Then re-try the install
