Emailing from Payroll

Hi members,

We recently loaded our payroll to a server.  We are unable to email from payroll, the error reads : cannot send email, please check your settings.

We have office 365 loaded on the server and outlook set as the default, we also don't have any duplicate outlook installed.

Does anyone have a solution perharps.

    HI Marni, you can try the below:

    Please see a few things you can check with your IT.

    1. Set Outlook as Default on the Mail Setup in the Control panel .
    2. The Outlook.exe file needs to be present in the program files.
    3. In Windows 8/10 select Setting > Click on Default Apps and select Outlook.
    4. Check if Outlook.exe is enabled and running on the Task Manager
    5. Make sure there are no duplicate users or MS Outlook versions.
    6. If Outlook is running as Administrator, Pastel payroll must also be running as Administrator  > (Right-click the Payroll icon > Properties >Compatibility tab > Run as Administrator)
    7. Reboot the machine after setting Outlook as a default app.
