How do I restore a backup?

The backup can be accessed from your landing page, alongside the applicable Site Code, when you click on Retrieve Backup.

  • Select the applicable company you would like to restore from the drop-down list.
  • Select the applicable backup from the available list. All backups are defined, according to the type of backup made, dated and time stamped.
  • Retrieving the backup could take a little time

Retrieving backups from the archive will not have any impact on your live data and will be accessed separately – until you select to replace the live data

You can only retrieve one backup from the archive at a time.

Once you have retrieved the backup the <Retrieve Backup> button changes to <The Backup Name> and there are four options available to you:

  • Launch Backup (so that you can access the backup data in a temp directory)
  • Return Backup to the archive and discard all changes made
  • Replace old Backup in the archive and apply all changes made (not recommended)
  • Replace Backup in your live data with this backup's data

The last option will overwrite your existing live data.

  • Where does the SBCPP system store the automatic backups and how do I retrieve them?

Good day Sarel. Whether you have made a backup or whether a backup was made during roll over, the steps above explain how to retrieve/access the backup. The backup can be accessed from your landing page, alongside the applicable Site Code, when you click on the 3 dots and then clickon Retrieve Backup.

    • Select the applicable company you would like to restore from the drop-down list.
    • Select the applicable backup from the available list. All backups are defined, according to the type of backup made, dated and time stamped.
    • Retrieving the backup could take a little time

As per the screen print, there are 4 different options once you have located the backup.

Backups are stored in the Cloud and cannot be downloaded to a local device.
