The Social Security National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and the National Pension Authority (NPA) have issued a public notice to inform employers that the monthly salary cap for Tier 1 has been reviewed from GHC25 000 to GHC35 000. Click here to view the capping letter.

This means that the maximum Tier 1 contribution made by both the employee and employer should be 13.5% X GHC35 000 = GHC4 725. Access the SSNIT contributions January 2021 calculator here.

The review takes effect from January 2021.
