UIF Contribution Limit Increase Effective 1 June 2021

The UIF contribution limit has increased to R17 712 per month effective 1 June 2021.

Therefore, from 1 June 2021, the UIF contribution limit is aligned with the UIF benefit limit.

What changes do I need to make on the payroll system?

The UIF Limit must be altered in the first pay period for June 2021 (Calendar month 06).

Note: It must be altered before you have transmitted salaries, or printed payslips or reports for the pay period.

To change the UIF Limit:

  • On the Main Menu
  • Select Company Information, then
  • Basic Company Information, then
  • Select the UIF Monthly Earnings Limit and enter R 17 712.00.
  • Your Ann. Limit will now display as R 212 544.00
  • When you close the screen, remember to answer YES to the general recalculation question

Q: Will there be a update for the new UIF Contribution limit changes applicable from 1 June 2021?

There will be no update that will apply these changes to the payroll system. Manual user intervention will be required.

Q: Do I need to make changes to the UIF contribution limit on the payroll system?

A: Yes, the UIF Contribution limit must be manually adjusted on the Basic Company Information screen in calendar month June . Click here for the steps on how to make the changes in the payroll system

Q: I am not in the first week of June , can I make changes to the UIF Contribution limit?

If you have already paid and have not started a new processing week, you will need to first start a new pay period and make the changes. This is to ensure that your paid values are correct on the reporting.
