Presidents Speech - 23 March 2020

Sage is aware of potential legislative changes that may impact your Payroll following the Presidential address to the nation on the 23rd of March.

Our Compliance and Legislative teams are awaiting final confirmation from Government on these measures and thereafter will provide further updates. Sage is committed to keeping you informed. Please monitor Sage City for up to date announcements and the latest news regarding our products and support over this time.

We recommend, where possible, to process your pay run as per usual and to consult your tax practitioner before making any drastic changes.
  • The Ministry of Finance published a Media Statement and Explanatory Notes on the proposed Covid-19 tax relief measures.

According to the Media Statement, the Draft Bills will be published on the 1st of April 2020.

Once the bill is published for public comment our compliance team will study the report and request clarity where it is needed.  Once they have given us more information on what needs to be implemented we will let you know.  We should have another update for you on the 1st of April.

  • Amendment Bills have been published to implement the changes regarding ETI.  These Bills do differ from the above mentioned Media Statement and Explanatory Notes.

At this stage no new information has been given regarding the TERS csv file specification and our compliance team is following up with the authorities multiple times a day in an attempt to get clarity on this file and the values and information that must be included in it.

As soon as we have more information we will be sending out another update.

We thank you for your patience during this time.
