Release 5.2a: OID Report (used to complete Was.8 Return of Earnings) Excel template reflects incorrect OID limit (R 458 520 instead of R 430 944)

Release 5.2a is available on the Customer Zone and all RSA users must install the new software on the Tax Year-end Copy System.

The reason why users must install the update is due to IRP5 validation changes included in the software.

We have identified a scenario which might affect your payroll:

Scenario:

When you run the OID Report (Real Number 507) to complete your Return of Earnings W.As.8 online, you have an option to generate a summary or detailed report.

The summary option, will generate the PDF report, and will also merge the report data with an Excel template, in an easy to use format to complete the information online.

The limit displayed on the Excel template page 2, reflects incorrectly, as in the example below:

The Excel template has been updated with the 2019/2020 OID limit (R 458 520), and does not change the limit displayed, when the report is run for a previous tax year.

Take note: The information and calculation values on the report is correct as it will apply the correct limit of R 430 944 (this will be confirmed on the PDF report)

Solution:

Click here to download the 2018/2019 template. When saving the file it will default to a .xls file and it must be a .xlt otherwise it will not merge with the template. To save it as a .xlt, just add .xlt to the name of the file before saving. Ensure to copy the Excel template into the Advisor folder of your Tax Year-end system if you did not save it there during the download process, overwriting the existing file. When you run the OID summary report again, it will merge with the template with the correct limit.

The limit will reflect as below:
