The latest version for Sage Classic, Sage Premier and Sage 200c VIP is available to download on the Customer Zone from 20 April 2020.
This is not a compulsory update, however, must be installed by the following users:
- RSA: Skill Module users
- RSA: Employers who claim Employment Tax Incentive
- Other tax countries: Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe (tax files and updated reports)
Included in the Release 5.4b software update:
- RSA: Skills and SETA report changes
- RSA: Covid-19 Relief Measures (ETI changes)
- Africa tax and report changes.
- Items resolved and requests implemented

When must Release 5.4b be installed?
- User must install Release 5.4b in April 2020 for all changes to be effective in the correct period.
- The update must be installed before final payments have been made and reports have been printed.
On what Release must I be before installing the new software?
- You must be on Release 5.4a in order to install the update.
Where can I download the software?
- Log onto the Customer Zone and select the applicable product from the Update menu option, to access the software.

How do I know if the software for Release 5.4b has been installed successfully?
- The release number version will be displayed at the top of the Company Listing Screen of your payroll, once the installation and conversion of data to the latest version is complete
Should Premier HR or Premier ESS users install new software when payroll is upgrades to Release 5.4b?
- All Premier HR and Premier Employee Self Service users must update their Premier HR and Premier ESS systems respectively to the latest versions available on the Customer Zone, to ensure smooth integration with Premier Payroll Release 5.4b.
- The updates for Premier Payroll, Premier HR and/or Premier ESS systems must be loaded consecutively.
- The latest version for Premier HR is v20.4.0.1 and Premier ESS is v10.1.
Will my financial values change if I install the update after I have paid?
- The update will force a general recalculation on your payroll when you upgrade to the latest version. If the update is installed after you have already paid, you will be required to reconcile all financial values to determine if values have changed
Should I do any changes to RSA ETI setup after installing Release 5.4b?
- A new field “Additional ETI Relief” is available to indicate if the company is entitled to receive the additional relief. This field is automatically selected when the update is installed, and only if the company was started after 01 March 2020, this field should be unticked. Refer to the product Release Notes for more details.
