C19 TERS Report for Sage Classic, Sage Premier and Sage 200c VIP - New TERS report to be released next week

During this unprecedented and uncertain time it may be difficult for you to keep up with the various changes and interpretations on the Covid 19 Temporary Employee/Employer Relief Scheme. Equally, the same on how to use your Sage Payroll application to extract and submit data.

To cater for the latest guidance from the Department of Employment and Labour, we will be introducing a simplified report that can be used within your Sage Classic, Premier and Classic payroll application to simplify this process.

The updated report will be available during the course of next week to download.

Take note, that you must be on Release 5.4b before you will be able to run the new report. Click here for more details on the new release and how to update your software.

Some of the fields we received guidance on to keep you in the loop:

What is ‘Remuneration (Monthly)’?

  • This is UIF remuneration (as defined in the Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act) in respect of the last fully remunerated payroll month before the lockdown/shutdown period.

What is ‘Remuneration Received During Shutdown Period’?

  • This is any remuneration (UIF remuneration) paid in cash or granted as a taxable benefit in respect of the lockdown/shutdown period.
  • This amount will be used to reduce the remuneration value of the TERS benefit calculated by the Fund before it is paid.

We are awaiting for confirmation as to whether the submission deadline will be extended beyond 30 April 2020.

Sage City (our preferred communication tool) will be updated on this topic and related payroll communications.
