The Social Security National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and the National Pension Authority (NPA) have issued a public notice to inform employers that the monthly salary cap for Tier 1 has been reviewed from GHC25 000 to GHC35 000. Click here to view the capping letter.
This means that the maximum Tier 1 contribution made by both the employee and employer should be 13.5% X GHC35 000 = GHC4 725. You can access the SSNIT contributions (January 2021) calculator here.
The review takes effect from January 2021.
To ensure that your system is updated with the latest changes, please follow the instructions below to install the software.
Before installing the software, take note of the following:
- Your payroll software must be on Release 5.5b which is available on the customer zone
- Your payroll must be in a new pay period
- Click here to visit software downloads page and follow the instructions below:
- Select the Africa tab
- Download the zip file and extract the contents to the Payroll folder, overwrite the existing files
