Ghana - SSNIT Maximum insurable earnings changes

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has confirmed that the maximum insurable earning for Tier 1 of GHC35 000 has been reverted to the old limit of GHC25 000.

This means that the maximum Tier 1 contribution made by both the employee and employer should be 13.5% X GHC25 000 = GHC3 375.

The contributions for January that were based on the GHC35 000 limit remain valid. However subsequent contributions should be submitted using GHC25 000 as the maximum insurable earning.

This change will be included in the 5.6a update.
