Release 6.1a: File size when printing payslips to a PDF file

We have made changes with Release 6.1a when generating payslips using the New Payslip Print options.

Click here to review the Release Notes.

It has come to our attention that the file size increased when printing payslips from the Release 6.1a HTML browser to a single PDF file. Our Product Delivery team is currently investigating alternative options for generating a single PDF file with all selected payslips, but with a smaller file size. Unfortunately, reverting to the original solution is not an option as it relies on Internet Explorer functionality that is no longer supported.

Although we are making every effort to provide a permanent solution to our affected customers as quickly as possible, it appears that it will not be available for the October pay run. Therefore, we would like to advise you to plan accordingly for October with one of the following options:

Option 1

Manually save the “big payslip” file and convert in to an internet Explorer file, using the steps below:

1. Right-Click on the payslip (document) in your browser and select “Save as”:

2. Save the document with its default name or any other name you prefer. Ensure to select the Save as type: Webpage, Complete (*htm,*html)

3. Open the newly saved file, in the saved location, by using the right click option on the file and selecting 'Open with'

4. Ignore and close any warnings about Internet Explorer

5. Right-click on the document in Internet Explorer and select Print Preview

6. You might need to change the header and footer or else select Enable Shrink to Fit. This can be done by selecting the   option on the preview.

7. Now select Print on the preview, and select your Microsoft PDF printer.

8. Save the file and email

Option 2

Use the old payslip printing option (User Defined Payslip) and print it directly to PDF. Please note that this method will not include company logos on the payslips.

Option 3

When printing the payslips, preview them first. If you are satisfied with the preview, return to the system and use the "Print Payslip to PDF" option. This will print the payslips directly to individual PDF files. You can then choose to zip these files. If you wish to password-protect the zip file, we recommend zipping the files after printing and adding a password to the zip file. Additionally, you can choose to password-protect each individual PDF payslip for added security

Option 4

If you do not wish to use the suggested alternatives, the best course of action for October would be to print the larger payslip file and find an alternative way to deliver it to the customer. This could involve using services like WeTransfer, an FTP site, or sharing the file on Google Drive

We want to emphasize that we are giving this matter the highest priority, and we will communicate with you as soon as a permanent solution is available
