Interim reconciliation rejected due to earnings in the minus

Good afternoon

I am trying to process my interim IRP5's but it will let me.  A staff member absconded in the middle of March 2020.

According to our contracts if you do not give a months notice we can a months notice from your salary.  This resulted in his earnings being in the minus.  Hence the error message when trying to complete my run.

I cannot change his earnings surely as that would then make it incorrect?  Has anyone else had this problem and know how to get around this?

    Hi Bernadette. Does the Validation look like the message below?

    Validation Error: "Amount for code XXXX is negative (-xxxx.xx)"

    Employee tax certificates cannot reflect negatives on any IRP5 code. The SARS e@syFile software will reject any such tax certificate and payroll administrators must ensure that the payroll complies with the latest SARS submission requirements.
