ETI UTILITY 2023 - INCORRECT PERIOD SETS AND CALCULATIONS

SUGGESTED

I am really concerned,  I have just realised that the ETI Utility Tool is not calculating the period sets correctly.  I have installed the new patch file, (several times already), but definitely is not correct.  This is a big concern for me.  I refer specifically to employees that finished their 12 month periods and now their periods are set to 1 again?

Is there anybody else with the same concern?

    Hi MWentzel,

Your post has raised concerns which I believe needs to be investigated.

Employees who completed the 24 ETI periods (between 18 and 29) will have Set 2 Period 12 as their ETI Periods on the Employee Information Screen, or the employees could have Set 3 if they qualified for the additional ETI during April to July 2020 and/or August to November 2021.

In your post, you mention that the ETI Validation Utility changes the Sets for some of these employees back to Set 1.

The ETI Validation Utility is designed to calculate the ETI periods in the specific tax year, and will start from March 2022 (on Release 5.8a) calculation/recalculating the Sets and Periods from there onwards, and suggest the recalculated ETI values based on the specific sets and periods which can be imported.

The updated ETI Validation Utility released in April 2022 for Release 5.8a, which includes the 2022/2023 ETI tables, has no known issue reported to change the employees on either Set 3 or Set 2 Period 12 back to Set 1, as it uses the March 2022 periods to calculate going forwards.

There was an issue was identified last year, mentioned on the article below where a patch was made available to stop the ETI set changes for 3 to 1 from recurring on Release 5.7a (and was also included in Release 5.7b:
