ETI EMPLOYEE RESIGNED AND RE EMPLOYED

SUGGESTED

If an employee resigned and is re-employed after a couple of months, can there be ETI claimed again for the employee?

Thank you

    Good day

Yes you can but you will need to continue from where you stopped claiming - an employee has in total 24 months for which an employer can claim for them. If an employee worked for 5 months and you claimed for them for 5 months, if they leave and come back, you will start at month 6 for example, so you do not start from the beginning again.

You will need to ensure that the period set and count is correct and that their ETI date engage is the same date from when they started with the company the first time - this is adjusted on the employee's ETI Screen: For example, you will change the 0 to 5 if they previously qualified for 5 months, the 1 refers to the first 12 months period and a 2 refers to the second 12 months, so you will change that as well depending on whether they are in their first or second 12 month period. Then if the employee started working for the company first time on 1 March 2017, you will then change the ETI date engage to 1 March 2017 as it will always default to an employees date engage when they are reinstated.

They system will then calculate the ETI accordingly.
