I am setting up New

I am setting up a new company and am currently using Sage 50 Pro accounting software.
I am becoming frustrated trying to enter a simple loan into this program.
We are a service company and instead of inventory we have open accounts.
I want to get rid of the inventory function totally out here and I want to keep track of our open working assignments.
Is this the wrong program for us or is there a way to make modifications to satisfy my need.
