Unique Customer Account Numbers

We have used Sage Pastel previously and the client/customer revolves around a account# customer#. So Royal Bank of Canada - Toronto would be RBC001 and Royal Bank of Canada - Calgary would be RBC002. Is there anyway to set this up in SAGE 50 2014 -2017?

Hi

Sage Chart of Account is strictly numbers only

1000 range is Asset account

2000 range is liabilities account

3000 range Owner's equity

4000 Revenue

5000 Expense

after account number you have Account name, you can type anything in account name for reference.

1001 RBC001

1002 RBC002

Sage 50 does have internal Customer ID numbers but you cannot see them directly with the program. You can use a customer ID as the initial part of the name eg. RBC001 - Royal Bank Toronto. Or you can use the Contact as the Customer ID. Or you can use one of the Additional Info fields as the Customer ID.

But the method of doing this would depend on why you need them?

If we have a large customer base, typing in an account number or ID to pull up a customer record is far easier than scrolling through many accounts especially those with similar business names.
