As sysadmin of a multi-user system in multiple locations, can I kick out users who are not even at work? I need to install an update, so I need to switch to single user mode and I can't until these people Log out.

Moving this post to the Sage 50 Canada Support Group.
Thanks,

In Sage 50 Canadian version the administrator does not have sufficient rights to be able selectively deactivate users. If you have many users that need to be deactivated you will have to get everyone out of the program and close it. Once shut down and re-opened you should see that all users have been terminated and each one can re-open their own log-in.
There is no such feature for kicking inactive users. You can try use force close method (if you really have to) Knowledge base article Here
if you have 2 user login, you will see mysqld.exe (current version)/ mysqld-nt.exe (older version) on the task manager's process list, make sure you know the proper one to end; I would not recommend this method unless you have to. (as unproper shut down might lead to data damage.)
