Thank you!  I tried to add the adjustment JE to correct it but the AP account is a control account and I could not add a JE directly.  Any other way to do the manual adjustment?

I removed the links to AP control account and then made the adjustment.  All is good now!

Until you have verified all of the vendor outstanding balances and compared the total with the A/P Account balance to be sure of the result you may still have a problem. Using a journal entry does not necessarily correct the problem. The file can get out-of-balance due to a number of causes and the most likely one is a power fluctuation at the time of posting. The next most common is the one already mentioned, when someone makes a journal entry without verifying the problem or cause. A rebuild of the database can fix these kinds of problems as well.
