This is an investment by the owners and it depends how the company is set up. If the owner is a shareholder in a corporation then this would be a liability set as Shareholder Loan.

If the company is a sole prop or partnership, the the account would be an equity account as Owner Contributions.

So in SAGE 50 how do I process a Owner Contribution? In my chart of accounts it is listed as 3010...

There should be an account in the 3xxx area of the Chart. Usually there is a pair Owner's Contributions and Owner's Withdrawals. If this is a partnership then there should be a set of accounts for each partner and their name or initials could be a part of the account names.

For this type of transaction I would use the General Journal with a dr to the Bank and a cr to Owner's Contributions.
