Sage 50 Remote Access

Question

I keep getting the following message when trying to open a shared Sage 50 file: 
 "another user is currently working with this company on this computer" 
 It seems my computer thinks I'm already in the file but I'm not. There is nothing appearing in my Tasks. I have tried stopping and starting the Sage Connection Manager. 
 Any other suggestions? It's a private home computer so there are no other users besides myself.

Hi nrm993 , Thanks for reaching out. Please see KB 106171 for the Error: "Another user is currently working with this company on this computer. Please wait for the other user to stop using this company and try again." 
 Is the machine the only machine you've accessed the file with and was it the one used to upload the company data file? Note that Remote Data Access requires that a second Sage ID is used to open a company file on a second machine. If you try to use the same Sage ID to one on two machines, the second machine will give this error message. Each machine requires a unique Sage ID. Option 3 from the KB above provides more details.

Hi nrm993 , I've forwarded your comments for review by a colleague and I see that you're waiting for a callback from support. On your end, if the owner of the file can access the shared data, you could try a restart of your machine, then try to reconnect to the file on RDA from Step 1 and 2 of the blog: How to replace or re-share a Sage 50 CA company file for Remote Data Access 
 STEP 1: First go to your View menu in Sage 50 then look for a check mark beside select Company Window At Startup, then exit out and relaunch Sage 50. 
 
 When you see the welcome screen, select the option: Connect to a shared company 
 If the owner of the uploaded data cannot access the file either, then option 1 from KB 106171 will likely have to be done which involves restoring a backup of the most recent file.
