Do you know what is supposed to be in the file?

I've never heard of a .001 file so I Googled it and found it is basically a zip file.  Until you extract what is in it and can tell us what it is and how you expect to use it, there is little we can do here to help you.

You can search this forum, the Knowledgebase and Sage 50 Help for *.imp template formats.  That will help you determine if what you have inside the file is understandable by Sage 50 or if you need to reformat it before you import it.

Thank you for your rapid response. I have tried using 7Zip and Winzip to view the contents but neither appears to work.
