Where do you see that Sage 50 is a 64-bit application?  To my knowledge it is 32-bit with some interoperability with 64-bit Outlook for emailing and modifications of the MS Office Reports to work in a 64-bit version of Office.

I have not been able to get MS Access to work well with Sage 50 since the change in database in 2008 so I stopped trying.  However, I believe I have seen some previous messages regarding this in the forums here so do a search to see if your answer may be there (unless you already did).  You might check the Knowledgebase as well (Help menu).

When working with the 64-bit version of Office products, you must open the Sage 50 file on the computer you are running the Office products before you attempt to connect.  This sets up the correct information in the Windows registry/Sage 50 ODBC drivers.  If you manage your ODBC drivers yourself, you must update them with the correct server and port after you open the Sage 50 file.

Thanks for the info Richard. I know that Sage 50 has to be open for ODBC connection to work. What do you mean by managing ODBC drivers myself? My boss has the same setup and yet when she closes and opens her Sage 50, her ODBC connection credentials are not lost. Mine are (I see that in both the ODBC and Windows registry). I noticed that my boss' third party permissions are read/write while mine are read-only. Could this be the cause?

Regarding Microsoft Access, have you heard anything about the 32bit version working better with Sage 50 or have you ever tried it?

I am assuming you have read this Knowledgebase article?  As I said, I haven't tried it nor paid attention to the forum messages regarding it.
