problem opening sage 50 Canada premium

I get a message. you cannot open this company. it was created in a newer version or is incompatible with your sage 50 solution. what dose that mean?

    If you have recently updated your Sage 50 to 2023.x, you will get this message if you try to open your data file using an older icon with direct connection to the data. When updating Sage 50 from one year to the next I try to always remove the prior year icon to avoid this type of error.

    This error could also occur if you are sharing your data through Remote Data Access and another user updated the data from 2023.1 to 2023.2.  Everyone needs to be on the same update version.

    so one works 2023.2 and the another one is 2023.1 and will not load up , how do I up date the 2023.1

    If you are on a current subscription the upload should have automatically downloaded when Sage 50 was closed. Check to see if the download is available:  C:>Users>Public>Public Documents>Sage Software>Simply Accounting>Download>SA_20232CPUP1.exe  If you find this hit enter and the update should start.

    Or you can download it from the Sage website. There are also other threads on these forums that have the link to the download.

    I was getting that error called sage and they advised me to open a sample company then close it and will give you the update.  then try to go into your real company and all will work.
