Premium to Pro edition

SUGGESTED

I understand that you cannot downgrade from Premium to Pro.  I have a question about this.  Now if I do not purchase the 2024 Premium .. and I have been a Premium user all along, and purchase the 2024 Pro version does this mean I have to start a new company from scratch and manually enter everything again including employees and accounts?

Also will my 2023 Premium edition at least let me run my year ends, my February employee T4's and any other remittances in January or Februray of 2024 or does it just shut down??

    Hi  ,

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. Hoping that the below brings some clarity.

If you decide not to purchase the 2024 Premium and instead opt for the 2024 Pro version, you won't be able to directly downgrade the data from Premium to Pro due to the different database structures and product features. This means you'd need to start a new company file in the Pro version. Manually entering data, including employees and accounts, would be required in this scenario.

Regarding your 2023 Premium edition, it won't simply "shut down". If your license for the 2023 Premium is on a subscription basis, you must use the most current version of the program to maintain its full functionality. If there's a lapse in your subscription due to reasons such as non-renewal or missed payments, your program will revert to a "read-only" mode. This would allow you to view your data but not make changes. Full functionality, including running year ends and remittances, would only be restored when any outstanding fees are covered, along with a reactivation fee.

Additionally, for detailed terms and renewal specifics, I recommend reviewing our End User License Agreement.

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi.

A further suggestion. If you have used none of the features unique to the Premium Version of Sage 50 - it is possible to have the data set moved back to a PRO version. This is not done by Sage but a technical person who has been working with Sage products and the earlier products like Simply Accounting. You will have to contact him to see if it is possible and what the cost would be. [email protected] Worth at least and email.
