Can I copy custom forms?

SUGGESTED

Hello.

I've customized the sales quote form to my liking (company's logo, font size, data fields, colour, etc.)

I would like to use that same look (template) for customers orders, invoices and supplier orders, while only changing the relevant data fields, in effect, so the form looks the same, but with a different title and relevant data.

Is there a way to do this, or do I need to customize every form from scratch? I've tried a couple of different ways (copying the form file, renaming it, etc. and try to open it as a user-defined form) but I keep getting the error " You have selected a Sage 50 Form file of another form type..."

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Cheers.

    Hi  ,

I hope you've been able to find a solution to copying custom forms in Sage 50 Canada since your post. If you're still looking for guidance, here's a suggestion that might help:

You mentioned wanting to use the same customized template across different forms by only changing the title and relevant data. To achieve this without customizing each form from scratch, you can simply go to the file location where your customized form is saved, make a copy of the file you wish to modify or duplicate, and then ensure that Sage 50 is set to use this form. This approach allows you to maintain the custom design across various forms.

However, it's important to note that when Sage 50 is updated, customized forms stored in the default folder might not be preserved. To avoid losing your custom forms after an update, copy the customized forms and paste them into a different folder on your local drive (e.g., C:\Sage or C:\Sage 50 Forms). After installing the new release, you can locate and select these forms through Setup, Reports, and Forms by choosing the User Defined form option.

Additionally, if you need to transfer a modified form from one computer to another, ensure to locate the .sfm files and transfer them via network, email, a USB drive, or the cloud. On the new computer, navigate to Setup, Reports & Forms to select and browse your customized form file.

Remember to also transfer any logos used in your forms and update the form settings if the location of the logo changes.

I hope this helps! If it does, please mark it as verified :)

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi
