How to get my user ID

SUGGESTED

Hello Everyone. I am trying to connect a third party application to track my companies vehicles. It is asking for my user ID. When I log into my sage 50 2024 edition, I use the sysadmin and then my password. Tis third party app (TripLog) which does support sage, is saying that my user ID is wrong. Is there another user ID and where can I find this?

    Hi  ,

Thanks for your question . Your user ID for third-party applications should generally be the same as the one you use to log into Sage 50. However, if the third-party app (TripLog) is indicating that the user ID is incorrect, it might be referring to an API user ID or a different form of identification required for integration purposes, which can be different from your Sage login credentials.

Here are some steps you might consider:

    1. Check the Third-Party Application Documentation: Often, third-party applications like TripLog will have specific instructions on how to find or create the necessary user ID for integration. Consult their documentation or support resources.

    2. Verify Compatibility: Ensure that the third-party software is compatible with your version of Sage 50. Compatibility issues can sometimes cause login problems.

    3. Windows Version: Check if you're running the latest version of Windows, as some third-party applications require it for security reasons, especially for payment transactions .

    4. Third-Party Product Rights: If you're using an Accountant's Copy of your Sage 50 file, it could restrict access to certain settings and options, including integration capabilities. You may need to restore a regular backup to adjust these settings .

    5. Integration Support: Sage Customer Support does not assist with third-party product issues, so you may need to contact the third-party app's support team for specific instructions related to their product .

    6. User Rights: Make sure the user profile within Sage 50 has the correct rights and permissions to allow for third-party integrations.

If these suggestions do not resolve the issue, it's best to directly contact TripLog's support for assistance, as they may provide the exact steps for their application to interact with Sage 50.

In the meantime, if you need to work on Sage 50 and are experiencing issues due to third-party utilities, anti-virus, or firewall problems, you can refer to the provided articles on how to configure or allow Sage 50 through these protections.

If this helps please mark it as verified :)

    Warm Regards,
