Sending emails with Sage

I’ve been trying to send emails from Sage using windows live mail (WLM). But I would get this error

sage 50 cannot communicate with your e-mail programs

please ensure that your e=mail program is mapi compatible .....

After reviewing all the Sage KB articles, I called Sage support who had me try a few things – with no success. They suggested that my MAPI installation was corrupt. After googling for a while, I could not find a Microsoft MAPI download for windows 8.1. But I discovered that WLM does not install MAPI like Outlook Express on XP would.

My MAPI installation was not corrupt, it was never installed.

I decided to use office2007 to just install just MAPI and no other apps, I use office365 apps.

And now I can email using Sage and WLM.

Keith, how do we make sure that

a) the documentation is updated to include the technical tidbit, and that

b) the MAPI service provider component is included as part of any future Sage release ?

Users can use the search box and advance search in Sage City to look up this thread. For the second question, we apologize that at this point, we do not consider to include MAPI component. If we have any updated information, we will notify our customers as quickly as possible.
