Sage is capable of recording Point of Sales transactions.

Some options are;

In the invoice itself, the Payment Method can be changed to Cash with the customer set to <One-time customer>

Credit cards can be setup in the system then selected in Payment Method. Refer to KB 10324 "How do I setup credit cards for sales or purchases as payment type?" for assistance with Credit Cards

There are Third Party Point of Sales Programs that can be linked to Sage 50.

I would not use 'one time customer' . Instead create a customer called 'Guests' and enter everyone thru that.

Thank you very much for your response.  I will definitely look into the credit option.  I was aware of some of the third party programs, however, I haven't seen the best reviews in Canada for some of them.  They can also be pretty costly, so I figured that if Sage already has an option to do so, we could test it out this season.

Thank you for the 'Guests' suggestion.  That's a good idea too.

If you set up 'service' items for each suite, and a price list, you'll be able to get better information.  

Whether using a 'one time customer' or a 'guest' customer, entering the guest name and address information in the 'shipping address' fields on screen will make the invoice searchable, which may be helpful if, for instance Joan Smith wants to rent the same room they had last year.  

Be careful when using Sage 50 by itself for point-of-sale, as it is not secured and doesn't have adequate controls for handling cash.  For instance, it's easy for someone to print an invoice, collect payment, then just start a new invoice without posting.  (but less easy with serial numbered, preprinted invoice forms).
