Thanks for your question. Yes you can pick up a box with a perpetual license. No need to reinstall the software. You will have to call in to Sage 50 CA Customer Service at 1-888-222-8985 to register the new serial and or email [email protected] to make the request.

The subscribtion will need to be deactivated manually by a Sage employee in the backend (best to do this once your subscription has expired*). Your new activation code (based on the box's serial number) will also need to be manually generated. Once this is done, launch Sage 50 and go to the Help menu > then select Upgrade Your Sage 50 Product.

This launches the Product Information screen where to enter the new codes.

May I ask what perpetual version through Staples is and how do you save money on this?

It is a retail version 2020.0 of Sage 50 Pro without payroll that you can never upgrade, but will not expire, so no annual subscription fees, just the initial cost to buy this 2020 version. Currently on sale for $224.99
