Local File or Network based? Same issue in the sample company?

local file, doesn't happen with either sample file or other test companies in the same folder
but company file was working fine with 2015.3 last week (for 1.5 years)

Sage support connected, tried to pinpoint the problem, nothing panned out, including clearing payroll data
they suggest I could send it in to the repair group, but it might cost me

this is a test company, that worked last week, so I'm not paying to find out about the upgrade corruption - I still have it if sage is interested

If an agent looked in person, and if other files are fine, then it is probably a file specific issue. restoring from an older backup before the file issue happened is another option besides repair.

Having the identical issue. Are your running Win10? I was running Win10 with 2015.3 until this upgrade with no issues.

Any help would be welcome.

you can try go to Setup – User preferences – Options – un-check the automatically refresh record balance

unchecking the option, allows me to create a paycheque, without a crash
going back and checking the option, brings back the crash

so unchecking the option prevents the problem, but I wonder how to fix the problem ?
note, check integrity, advanced dbc, and dbutil were run the other day
