Back-Ordered Item Error

SUGGESTED

We are on the updated Sage Businessvision 2023 edition, but we have been experiencing an unusual problem in the past few months.

Random items will show items as "back-ordered" despite there being no outstanding sales orders. That, or the back-ordered amount will show as double the quantity that is on a sale order. These can only be cleared out manually by adjusting it on the "Details" tab.

This issue is bleeding on to our re-order listing report and new items appear every week where they are not being cleared out of the back-order section properly. I do not know if this has to do with the new Actian Zen database powering BV 2023, but it was not an issue we experienced with the Pervasive database for BV 2013 - 2019.

Looking for help and advice. I can do the file reorganization, but I am worried that that is a temporary fix and the problem will continue to occur. Any advice is appreciated.

    Hi  ,

Thank you for reaching out with the issue you've encountered in Sage BusinessVision 2023, concerning the incorrect back-ordered quantities being displayed. This does seem like it could be related to the inventory file not updating correctly, which might be due to various reasons such as network interruptions or system glitches.

This article suggests that inventory committed and backordered quantities can be recalculated through the 'Reorganize Files' function. Before you proceed with this, it's crucial to ensure all users are logged off BusinessVision and that you have a complete backup of your data.

While reorganizing the files may correct the current discrepancies, it's understandable that you're concerned this could be a recurring issue. It's not directly stated that this issue is related to the transition from Pervasive to Actian Zen, but if the problem persists after reorganization, it would be wise to look deeper into the database behavior with Actian Zen.

If you've already tried reorganizing your inventory files and the issue continues, or if you'd like further assistance before proceeding, please let us know. We can guide you through the next steps or suggest additional resources. Connect with us through the Help and Chat options available within your Sage product.

    Warm Regards,
