Cannot run backups in Sage 50 payroll 2018/2019

SUGGESTED

Just upgraded to the new version for tax year 2018/2019. I cannot perform a back-up as when I exit the software and it prompts for an automatic back-up (and I click yes), it runs half way then asks me to insert disk 2 (what even is this?). When I click ok it then runs for another minute then stops and hangs. I have to use Task Manager in Windows (I'm on 7) to crash out of it and start again. When I choose Wizards - Backup to do it that way, the same thing happens.

Does anyone know how to fix this so I can run backups again? I haven't yet performed a pay run on it, but obviously I want a backup before I run the March end of month pay run!

    Hi Souxie,

Thanks for using our Product Support Community.

This message can occur when the data location does not have enough free disk space to create the backup file.

Try taking the backup to another location, e.g. your desktop to run a test backup.

Also, check the free disc space on the drive where the data is located. If it is low, you should attempt to free up some space.

You can take and control your backup in File > Backup.

Full info on how to backup your data here.
