Pensions Module Download Problems

I have been trying to get hold at someone from Sage all week but to no avail so I come to you for help

I have purchased the Sage 50 Pensions Module and assumed this would be a simple add on to my Sage 50 Payroll that would "appear" next time I logged in. However all of the pensions elements are still greyed out and I can not find anywhere to download the module. Am I being really dumb or am I meant to have been sent an email or similar to enable the download?

Any help would be much appreciated as I am starting to lose the will!

  • Hi Louisa,

When you purchase the Sage 50 Pensions Module it should be activated automatically in the software. If it isn't this is because the licence file is not automatically updated when the registration changes.

To activate the Sage 50 Pensions Module in this instance, you must delete the licence file so that when you reopen the software, an updated entitlement file is retrieved:

Note: You must have an internet connection in order for the file to be updated.

    1.         Close Sage 50 Payroll.

    2.         Browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\SDK Licence\licences.

    3.         Right-click the file Sage.UK.SBD_[your account number].xml > Delete.

    4.         Reopen Sage 50 Payroll.

As long as you're connected to the internet, the file will be recreated and the Pensions Module options will now be active. If the options are still not active, to check that your Serial number and Activation key are correct in Tools > Upgrade Program.
