Nominal link to sage 50 accounts not working

SUGGESTED

I've upgraded to V25 for both Sage payroll and accounts, the nominal link between sage payroll and accounts isn't working.  It displays an error message stating that the software may have been moved.  When I try to navigate it to the correct location by clicking 'retry' it keeps popping up with the same message, and if I close it shuts payroll down. Can anyone help please?

    That’s great, thanks Debbie.

This occurs if the Sage Accounts Data Service is the wrong version or stops running on the computer that stores your Sage Accounts data. If Sage Accounts was working previously, you can normally resolve this in a few steps by restarting the Sage Accounts Data Service. To do this:

    1. Restart the computer that holds your Sage Accounts data. If the issue persists, continue to step 2.
    2. On the computer holding your Sage Accounts data, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
    3. Enter services.msc, click OK then in the list of services look for Sage 50 Accounts Service v25 and Sage 50 Accounts Control v25.
    4. For each service, right-click the service, click Stop, right-click the service again, then click Start.

    Ok, thanks Debbie.

As the issue still appears after following these steps you can find further steps to resolve the message in this guide. This may involve checking Windows settings such as firewalls and folder permissions so you may prefer to pass the article to your IT support. Alternatively, if you have Sage Cover, you can contact Sage Technical Support on 0191 479 5955 and they can got through this with you.
