The use of themes other than the Contemporary theme will deprecated in Sage CRM 2024 R1, and support for other themes will be dropped from Sage CRM 2024 R2.
In Sage CRM, themes refer to the visual appearance and layout of the user interface. Themes have been used to determine the colours, fonts, and overall design of the system. The default theme applied when a new user is added or when the user clicks "Set To System Defaults" in their preferences is the Contemporary theme. On a new installation of Sage CRM, only the Contemporary theme is available. However, when you upgrade Sage CRM, all themes that existed in the previous version will remain available in the new version.

How to provide an alternative User Interface Experience.
Starting with Sage CRM 2024 R1, the use of themes other than the Contemporary theme will be deprecated. Furthermore, support for these other themes will be completely dropped in Sage CRM 2024 R2. To cater to customers who seek to offer their users an alternative user interface experience, we recommend using the Custom Theme folder. This folder allows you to override the style sheet of the Contemporary Theme, providing a customized visual appearance. This approach ensures a smooth transition to the supported Contemporary theme and allows for personalized user interface enhancements.
The Custom Theme folder was introduced in Sage CRM 2021 R2, to store custom CSS files that allow customers to apply visual customizations to the Sage CRM theme. By placing CSS customizations in the custom theme folder, you can change the look and feel of the user interface according to your preferences.
