404 Error on Customization

We have created a test environment for this customer and they wanted the production data so they restored the prod database over the test database. I have corrected most issues but when accessing a custom tab I get a 404 error. The log file states a missing URL 404 and when I try to navigate to that in the browser I see the following.

This physical path of ‘F:\Services…’ is incorrect as this was for the production site. I have corrected the other path values in the custom_sysparams table but cannot figure out how to correct this one. Would you have any suggestions?

    Hi ,

The below error refers that CRM files/directory is not found in IIS. Please check the below things at your end.

    1. Check whether the CRM virtual directory is visible in the IIS and parent path check box is enabled.

    a. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS version 7) Manager.

    b. Double-click on your computer on the left side and then double-click on Web Sites.

    c. Locate the Web site and directory that houses the ASP application.

    d. Right- click the application site or directory, and then click Properties.

    e. Select Home Directory, and then click Configuration.

    f. Click Options, and then click to select the Enable Parent Paths check box.

    g. Click OK to save the changes.

    2. Also check the logs generated in the log file and re-post the same again, so that we can have a better look on the error and provide you the solution. You can check the log files under the below path.

    ~Root Drive\Program Files\Sage\CRM\CRM\Logs

    Hope this information helps!

    Sincerely,
    Dinesh

This was actually already selected on the website. I found another error of mine was not changing the servernames in the custom_sysparams table. I updated this but still get the 404 when trying to open this tab but I am no longer getting any errors in the log files now though.

The problem was with the WWWRoot Custompages folder, and all of the other folders were fine. Thanks for the suggestion though.
