SAGE CRM import - multiple persons on same record

Hi,

I have an excel file with multiple persons (FirstName, LastName and TitleCode) on the same excel record. The import complains:

Error Blank Person Details - could not add  -   Required Field(s) blank

What additional field is import looking for?

If I remove the additional person columns from the excel file, it imports just fine.

Manual insertion of a persons shows Address 1 as the additional mandatory field - I have made that not required but this did not work.

Sample excel attached.

There is no data in the Excel file so cannot test it. However, this may be caused by the field mappings, By default, you need to have person first name and last name mapped to every person you wish to upload. They cannot be blank. If you have mapped two persons, but missing one person's last name, then you will rececive this error.

    Hi Terry,

    I only uploaded the headings.

I do have some of the columns DIR1...DIR9 empty - a set (Fname, Lname and Title) would be completed (and not all records have the same number of these sets populated) . Would a space do the trick?

    Hi Marios:

All the required fields are also required in data upload. You can try to create a company to see what are the required fields. By default, we need company name, address1, person first and last name.

I suggest you to try one set of data with those required field, I don't think space works but it worth a try.

    Hi Terry,

The import works fine if I remove the additional persons from each row (that is columns DIR1 ... to secretary). By the way, secretary goes into notes.

Please find attached a part of the file (one company only). From row DIR_FName all the way to Secretary, are the additional persons that I want imported per row under People.

    1. Firstly, at mapping time, I have to map the TYPE field as well otherwise it will complain as duplicate. This is not the case however if I add each person on a different row. in fact I do not want to use the TYPE field.  Is there a way around this?
    2. This is the error log after performing this import for the attached file:
Type	Details Row	Column	Mapped to	Value

Error	Invalid Person Details 2 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 3 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 4 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 5 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 6 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 7 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 8 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 9 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 10 Required Field(s) blank
Error	Blank Person Details - could not add 11 Required Field(s) blank

Maybe you can shed some light!
