Fraud Alert for Sage Customers

Less than one minute read time.

We’ve experienced a growing awareness of non-affiliated companies contacting our customers and claiming to represent Sage.  This scenario is not limited to Sage as other companies that provide software business solutions have seen the same type of activity.  These companies advertise themselves, most often on the web, as providing services to our customers on behalf of Sage, typically software or hardware support.  They aggressively market “support or protection plans” once they make contact.

If you have any questions regarding contacts from a third party claiming to represent Sage, you can contact our customer service team at 866-996-SAGE.

Please do not give out your Sage account number without verifying that you are speaking to Sage Software directly.

  • Hey guys, sorry for the delay. That's a great question - let me see what info I can get for best practices on that. We do ask standard questions if/when we would contact you directly, so I will see what I can get on that. There are certain things that we can also see in your account, such as your current product and service plan information. You could also ask (if you know) when the last time you contacted them, we would have a record of that. If they're asking for CC info, ask them what info they have on file - we would only be able to see the last 4 digits and the expiry date, but a fraudulent call shouldn't have that info. Also, we can confirm the serial number and/or activation information for your product.
