Closing multiple periods at a time.

SOLVED

Hello,

I am newly working as the administrator for SAGE, and have a question about closing multiple periods at a time. Our company currently has the current period set to a time two years ago, and I am currently in the process of helping them catch back up. The last person in charge of Sage told me that if I change the current period from say 1/2018 to 4/2018, SAGE will close out periods all periods between 1/2018 and 4/2018. Is this correct, or was only period 1/2018 closed out? Thanks in advance!

    SUGGESTED

Surya, It is recommended NOT to manually change the Period/Year in any Module (PR, AP, etc) Setup Options window but rather perform from the Period/Year End Processing menus which moves the period/year forward.   There is also a knowledge article kb# 19506.  This is to insure transactions are posted to other modules before closing them.  Lastly, the most current versions of Sage 100 2018 with Payroll 2.x do not require closing modules as the legacy versions required.

    Hi Linda,

You indicated that the Sage 100 2018 modules on the new framework do not require period and year end closing.  For example, A/R, A/P, G/L, I/M, S/O, and P/O in version 2018 do not require period and year end closing?
