When two people are posting simultaneously, our reports sometimes get swapped

SOLVED

I've run into this issue occasionally for at least the last couple of years. Say, for example, that I'm posting a batch of Invoices in Accounts Payable while my coworker is posting a batch of Cash Receipts Entries in Accounts Receivable. I post my batch, print my Invoice Register, and instead a Cash Receipts Journal pops up on my screen. I'd close it, and reprint my Invoice Register, and it would work the second time. No big deal.

Today, however, my coworker was posting some Cash Receipts while I was posting Payroll, and one of our employees received an A/R Sales Journal instead of her Direct Deposit Stub. Now I'm concerned, because what if someone's payroll information went out to one of our customers during one of these mix-ups?

Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing? Did you find a solution to it?

Have a look at this KB article.

Paperless Office PDF documents from separate print jobs are merged or crossed or appended together when printed from Sage 100 in a Terminal Server / Citrix environment

There are several scenarios that can occur with this issue, including:The "Use Lockfile" checkbox is unchecked in Paperless Office Advanced Options

    • User A and User B print simultaneously, and the users see each other's documents.
    • User A and User B print simultaneously, and the wrong documents are written to the wrong files (they are swapped)
    • User A and User B print simultaneously, and the files are merged together into one PDF file
    • User A and User B print simultaneously, and User A's document is fine, while User B's document includes part or all of User A's document.

    Note
: Selecting the Use LockFile checkbox only affects the currently active company code. If there are multiple company codes in use, make sure to follow this process by accessing each company code, then running the utility. To resolve this issue, verify that "Use Lockfile" is selected in Paperless Office Advanced Options:

    1. From the Sage 100 ERP Desktop, open File,
    2. Select Run
    3. For Program, enter PL_AdvancedOptions_UI
    4. Click OK to open the Paperless Office Advanced Options task window
    5. Select the "Use LockFile" checkbox so that it is checked
    6. Click Accept

Additionally, you may try changing print spool settings:

    1. From the Windows Desktop, open Control Panel, Devices and Printers
    2. Right-click the Sage 100 PDF Converter printer (on older versions, it may be the Sage PDF Converter)
    3. Select Printer Properties
    4. Access the Advanced tab
    5. Select the "Spool print documents..." option, instead of the "Print directly to printer" option.
    6. Select the "Start printing immediately..." sub-option.
    7. Click OK

    SUGGESTED

Yes, always set the Use Lockfile option to avoid this problem.

Thanks so much! Use Lockfile was not checked. I have now remedied that. :)
