Changed the description name of Main account, and TB and account inquiry still shows the old description?

SOLVED

I changed the description and short description and hit Accept from the Main Account Maintenance window.  However, the trial balance and account inquiry still shows the old description.  Shouldn't I be able to update the description from the Main Account Maintenance screen?    When I reopen the Main Account Maintenance screen, the new description is showing.  I tried using the Apply feature, but it says there's no new information to apply.

Any ideas why changing the description isn't updating in the TB, account inquiry?

    Are you logged into two different companies?  One in account maintenance and another where you are looking in Inquiry and printing the report?

    I am only logged into the one company.  However, there are other employees logged in to other companies and in the same company that I am working in.

    If you change the description of the Main Account it does not change the Account Description. 

                 Main Account 100 Cash on Hand

                 Account # 100-00-00 Cash on Hand

                                  100-01-00 Cash in Bank - 1

    However, I believe if you change the Main Account description and then Apply it will change the Accounts that match the previous name to the new name, but if the account description is different it will not.

    After apply:

                 Main Account 100 Change on Hand

                 Account # 100-00-00 Change on Hand

                                  100-01-00 Cash in Bank - 1

    Thanks for the helpful information.  I tried this method, and it didn't work at first.  I had opened another window in another company after responding to Stefanoum above.  After I closed the window from the other company, it saved the change.
