Source Journal Missing from GL

We are on MAS 200 v4.50.50, with the original payroll module (I know...we're working with our reseller on an upgrade plan).  Our installation has been stable, and in the 10+ years we've been on this version, I've never seen anything like this so I believe it may be user inflicted.  Looking for advice on how to correct, and also how best to determine if any other journals may have been affected.

Our bookkeeper generally runs/updates the DTR from GL daily.  When she processes payroll, she prints a copy of the DTR from payroll for her payroll file, but does not update.  Today she discovered that a payroll run from 3 weeks ago did not post through to GL.  She also does not have a printed copy of the DTR for this week (hence my belief that she did something differently than usual).  The payroll checks show up on the employee records, and the payroll amounts are included on payroll reports.

The DTR for the week prior shows source journal PR-001190 and for the following week shows source journal PR-001192.  Both of these are updated correctly.  A search for source journal PR-001191 comes up empty.  The journal also does not show up on the DTR when running from payroll or GL.  Both of these tasks have been done multiple times since this payroll run, and I verified today, just to make sure.

Questions:

  1. Is it possible for a user to delete the DTR without updating?  If so, how?
  2. To correct this, do we need to enter a general journal entry using the data from our payroll reports?
  3. How would we determine if journals from other modules are also missing from GL?
