I would suggest going to General Ledger, Explorer, Account Transactions, Filter for Posting Date, Source Journal and Journal Register and then go to File, Export Options and export to Excel.

Why are you printing to a PDF?  You should preview, then export to Excel.  Unless that is what you mean by printing to a PDF.  For some of my frequently run report, I have an Excel Query to extract data using GL and date range parameters.

With BOI scripting and a Excel VBA macro one can use the nSelectReportSetting and nProcessReport methods on the 'GL_DetailReport_rpt' object to load the desired fields of the 'GL_DetailReportWrk' table directly into an Excel worksheet table. It's much faster than querying the original tables. Then filter to your heart's desire. Especially helpful is the Excel SubTotal function that can sum/count fields and ignore rows hidden with table filters.
